Rebecca completed her Veterinary degree at Massy University in New Zealand in 2006. Bec has spent time working and travelling abroad. She spent many months working in South Africa, Zambia and Thailand. She has worked with many species of animals on her travels like Vervet Monkeys, Baboons, Donkeys, Wort Hogs and Lions. She has many years of experience having worked in many practices in Australia and the UK. Bec brings valuable skills to the clinic, especially acupuncture, ultrasonography and medicine. She devotes much of her spare time to her horse Lolly and cats Pachinko and Belle.
Lauren joined our team in 2014 as a Veterinary Nurse and has since then taken on the role of Practice Manager. Lauren originally grew up in the small country town of Colac, where she worked in a large animal veterinary clinic as a large and small animal Veterinary Nurse. Lauren has brought a lot of experience and skills to the clinic, being a very good cat handler is one of her many talents.
Lauren enjoys all kinds of surgery, especially orthopaedics and enjoys engaging with clients and seeing all kinds of animals come into the clinic.
Lauren has a Ragdoll cat named Chuck and a 3 legged Boxer named Layla. Lauren enjoys sports, food, spending time with family and friends and baby farm animals.
A Melbourne graduate, Michelle transferred to Ballarat from our Greencross Point Cook practice, providing valuable additional skills to our veterinary team. She has worked in both metropolitan and regional practices and values the close client relationship that our practice promotes. Michelle has great interest in behavioural medicine and is ready to help you find a solution to any behavioural dilemmas that you may encounter with your pet. She is keen to keep up to date with current knowledge and presently is undertaking studies to sit her membership exams in the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists. The love of her life is Mason, a handsome smooth collie.
Jess graduated from the University of Queensland in 2012 with honours. She has a lot of experience and knowledge in the Veterinary Industry, having worked at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary for 8 years while completing her studies to become a Veterinarian. Jess has particular interest in Medicine, small animals and exotic animals such as reptiles and birds. She loves to meet clients and their pets and achieving great results for them. In her spare time Jess works with the Victorian Young Farmers Association, volunteers on the Soup Bus, knitting running and Ballet. She has a tortoiseshell cat names Audrey and a Turtle named Pippa.
Receptionist Pam is a veteran at Greencross Vets Ballarat, having been here since late 2003. She has a total of 19 years in the veterinary industry, previously working in education for 12 years. She loves meeting the clients, their pets and is always full of smiles and laughter. Married to the man of her life Kelvin or “Kel”, for nearly 44 years, they have 4 sons, 3 daughters-in-law and are blessed with 11 grandchildren, ranging from 15 years to 2 years .She never ceases to marvel as she watches them grow and develop. When she’s not looking after her grandchildren or working, Pam delights in reading, cooking, gardening or out walking with Kel. She also loves travelling overseas (when time permits). Theme Parks and fast rides (she is a real thrill seeker) are another of her great passions.
Nikki has been a part of the team for more than10 years. She considers herself fortunate to be involved in Puppy Preschool classes and helping clients coming to terms with the grief of losing a loved animal as well as “playing” on reception. She is married to Justin and together they have 4 spunky kids! Family and friends mean the world to Nikki and she deems herself extremely spoilt in this department. Nikki loves the beach, camping, dancing, exercise and of course red wine! She adores the smell of newborn [human] babies and “puppy breath”!!
Melissa or “Mel” as she’s known about the place, is originally from Mornington Peninsula where she worked in a mixed animal clinic for many years. She has been with our practice for 10 years now. In that time, she has watched the clinic grow and has enjoyed being part of an increasing team focused on ensuring caring, compassionate and up to date pet care. Melissa has a passion for dog behaviour and training, has undertaken studies in this area and is always happy to offer support and behavioural advice. In her spare time, Mel enjoys spending time out of town on her small farm with her two children, her horses and five dogs.
A former primary school teacher, Annette decided for a career change at the age of 53. Having bred miniature ponies for over 30 years, she is no stranger to animals. Since joining the Greencross team she has completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and microchipping accreditation. A mother of 4 grown children, Annette is now also a grandmother of two. Married to Rob, they have a 20-acre farm in Warrenheip. Annette & Rob have a menagerie of animals, ranging from cats and dogs through to miniature ponies and a Galah called “Rory”. Annette is an avid runner; and has competed in long distance events such as the New York and Paris Marathons. She enjoys music, and plays piano, guitar and flute. Annette loves travelling, snowboarding, the beach, surfing, and of course animals. Whew!
Adrienne joined our team in September 2014 and has brought with her a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm for the Veterinary Industry. Adrienne graduated from Charles Sturt University in Wagga and has devoted much of her time to rescuing and helping animals and wildlife. She has volunteered her time at places like Rarotonga in the South Pacific , gaining a lot of experience. In her spare time she spends time with her rescue animals Mo and Rupert as well as competing in eventing and show jumping with her horses Billy, Redlock, Turtle and Lulu. She also enjoys classical music, reading and jobs on the farm.
Rae graduated from the University of Queensland with honours in 2014. She may be the newest member of our team but Rae has exceptional medical knowledge and brings so much enthusiasm into her work. Rae particularly enjoys surgery, anaesthesia, medicine and working with Avian animals. In her spare time Rae enjoys playing volleyball, cooking, scuba diving and spending time with family and friends. She has two dogs, a beagle names Cindy and a Ridgeback named Pepper.
Lauren is a Qualified Certificate IV Veterinary Nurse who received her Certificate at Victoria University in Melbourne. She began working with the Greencross Ballarat Clinic in 2012. Lauren grew up in Warrenheip on a few acres of land surrounded by many animals and is currently living in Ballarat with her partner of 9 years and her Persian cat Zara. Lauren also has two dogs, a staffy called Zeebo and a Pug called Mia. Her interest at work include pathology, health and nutrition and soft tissue surgeries. Outside of work Lauren enjoys getting down to the beach whenever possible and planning future holiday destinations.
Megan has worked for the Greencross team for 3 years bringing wither her some experience having worked in a few Vet Clinics throughout Australia. Megan has a mischievous sense of humour and can brighten up anyone’s day. Megan is currently undertaking her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Megan particularly enjoys dentistry and surgery and devotes her spare time to her cat Gus and her Guinne Pigs Giggle. Pie and Giget. She enjoys karate, badminton and chocolates.
Ashley is one of our youngest members of our team, but don’t let that fool you! Her enthusiasm and devotion to becoming a Veterinary Nurse makes her a perfect fit for our team. Ashley is currently completing her studies in Veterinary Nursing. In her spare time Ash devotes her time to her furry friends Paris and Poppy and also enjoys playing the guitar, cooking, spending time with friends and road trips.
